Managing knowledge in changing times

In business  and large organization world, it is known the need for constant change in this era where yesterday is already overshadowed by today and even by what will come tomorrow.

Therefore, companies acquire new tools and use them to stay in the focus of the market and survive within it.

Knowledge management has become the continuous process of learning in an organization that allows greater creativity and innovation by workers, who in turn make good decisions and respond quickly to current demand.

The most noticeable reasons for the emergence of knowledge management are:

1. The emerge of a flat and flexible organization: today´s successful companies tend to be flatter and relying less on hierarchies than 25 years ago, because they have fewer limits on action, better and immediate communication among bosses, suppliers, customers, etc.

2. Transformation of economy into a knowledge economy: this causes the generation of new roles and learning new ways of working to maintain the trend of the present. Now, the mind needs new tricks and not so much manual.

3. Short durability of knowledge: the inventiveness today will be obsolete tomorrow by another´s ideas. Updating the knowledge and be in continuous learning to achieve new skills.

4. Shift from permanent employment to permanent employability: bosses support the development of employability by workers.

5. Fundamental changes on educational global market: organizations that required lifelong learning have formed corporate universities. Thus, companies will have a large number of staff that show commitment and identification with the university when having the appropriate training.
